Communication—Point of Truth (POT)

Our schools Communication—Point of Truth (PDF, 214KB) outlines our school's communication strategy, focusing on setting our students up to be 'Respectful, Empowered, Accepting, Collaborative and Honourable' (REACH) new heights each day by working together, through open and respectful lines of communication.

Our Communication Point of Truth is for school days (excluding weekends, holidays, student free days and public holidays):

  • Administration telephone: 8.30am–3.00pm (Message bank outside of these times)
  • Administration email: 8.00am–3.00pm
  • Teacher contact via email or telephone: 8.00am–4.00pm
  • School Absence Line: 24 Hours per day—Telephone: 3201 9444 (Message bank)

When communicating with the school via email

  • First point of contact is the classroom teacher (or relevant specialist teacher) for all student questions or concerns
  • All emails will be replied to within two school days. If you have not heard back from your student's teacher or the school after two school days (Monday to Friday 8.00am–4.00pm), please send a follow up email to the teacher.

When communicating with the school via telephone (Administration)

  • 8.30am–3.00pm each day. Outside of these hours, your call will go to a message bank that will be checked during office hours.
  • Office contact: Absences, student running late, lunch being dropped off (forgotten at home), etc. Please do not contact your child's teacher about these items, please ring the school office.

When requesting a meeting with a teacher

  • Learning time focuses on learning, and cannot be used for meeting with family members or about questions or concerns for students. Our learning times are signalled by our school Bell Times. Teachers have a duty of care to their students during learning time.
  • To respect the time and commitments of our staff, please ensure you email to set up a meeting time, rather than arriving at the classroom to meet without a mutually convenient meeting time organised. If a family member arrives at the classroom during learning time and requests time with the teacher, the teacher will respectfully ask the family member to request a meeting time via email.
  • If you would like to meet with your child's teacher, please email them to set up a meeting time outside of learning time that is mutually convenient. Meeting times, that are mutually convenient to the family member and staff member, can be made between 2.30pm and 4.00pm on non staff meeting afternoons.

When requesting a meeting with a member of our school Leadership Team (Principal or Deputy Principal)

  • Please email admin@woogaroocreekss.eq.edu.au to make a mutually convenient meeting time with a member of our Leadership Team
  • As the school Leadership Team has varied roles and responsibilities throughout each day, if you arrive at the   office and request to see a Leadership Team member, you may be asked to make a mutually convenient time if a Leadership Team member is not available.
