Student Resource Scheme

Woogaroo Creek State School offers a Student Resource Scheme (SRS) which is a user‐charging scheme to provide parents/carers with a mechanism to access individual student resources that are not funded by the government.

The objective of the scheme is to provide parents/carers with a convenient, cost‐effective and equity based alternative to the individual supply of resources for their students. Participation in the SRS is optional, and no obligation is placed on a parent/carer to participate.

Advantages to participating in the Student Resource Scheme:

School sources all student supplies and resources for the school year. This saves families time in organising, finding, purchasing, covering and naming items.

School purchases all resources using departmental discounts. This saves families money in purchasing resources at retail prices and spending time and money travelling to purchase resources.

Equity for students. All students have and use the same supplies and resources. This saves any inequity in brands, popular items, special book coverings, etc.

Equitable access to curriculum activities. This means that each student has the exact resource they need to complete specific curriculum activities alongside their peers.

Promotes shared responsibility and ownership based in our 'Reach expectations'. This means that students collaborate together using resources and supplies that they are responsible for, and take responsibility for.

Maximises learning time for students. This means that learning time is not impacted by students who can’t find an object, or who have left resources at home. Resources will be on hand, each day for each student to access and use in their learning.

Prevents wastage of unused materials and equipment. This means that everything that is part of our SRS Scheme is used in learning. Quantities are specific to the curriculum and appropriate to year levels. Items can be replaced when broken or at end of use with no extra cost to families.

School takes responsibility for ordering and supply. This means that students can arrive at school each day, or at the start of the year carrying only their school bag, water bottle, borrowing bag, school hat and lunch box, and wearing their uniform. There is nothing else they need to bring. Families will not have to provide resources from home throughout the year or ‘top up’ lost or used items on the booklist.

For parents/carers who elect to enter into the scheme, no additional resources will be required to be purchased via a booklist.

Alternatively, a booklist will be provided to you for your student's year level following your enrolment interview should you elect not to participate in the scheme.

Please refer to the Student Resources Scheme booklists for more information and annual costs.

Families who participate in the scheme, will be invoiced by the school in January of each school year. The BPOINT payment system or Centrepay can be set up to support families to pay off the SRS cost in payments.
